This year’s events are listed on the Swim Ireland Open Water calendar and are open only to swimmers who are REGISTERED AS COMPETING MEMBERS OF SWIM IRELAND or Swim Ireland Affialiated Club. No one will be allowed to swim if they do not provide evidence of their Swim Ireland Membership or membership of an Affialiated Club. Tri Ireland Membership does not cover you in this swim. You must also provide evidence of open water swims that you have successfully completed in the 12 months preceeding August 2011. Under new Swim Ireland Rules non members and non competing members are no longer covered by insurance for Swim Ireland Open Water Events.
DETAILS OF EACH EVENT CAN BE FOUND BELOW. The water rescue units of Inbher Sceine, and a team of kayakers including experienced open water swimmers from Dundag Masters will supervise the swim to make it as safe as possible. Proceeds of this year’s swim will support Inbher Sceine Kerry Water Rescue Sub Aqua Club and the Dundag Masters Swimming Club. Entry fees can be paid on the morning of the swim during registration 3km - €25 4km and 6.3km €30. Please see map below for outline of swims.

3Km SwimYou must be over 18 years of age on the day of
the swim registered as a competing member of Swim Ireland. You must also have completed a
Swim Ireland sanctioned swim of 2km or more in the past 12 months. If
you completed the 2010 4km or 3km Muckross Lake swim then you will
qualify automatically as we have a record of your swim provided you
certify that you have trained and are fit enough to complete a swim in
excess of 3km.
4 Km SwimYou must be over 18 years of age on the day of
the swim registered as a competing member of Swim Ireland. You must also have completed a
Swim Ireland sanctioned swim of 3km or more in the past 12 months. If
you completed the 2010 4km and 3km Muckross Lake swim then you will
qualify automatically as we have a record of your swim provided you
certify that you have trained and are fit enough to complete a swim in
excess of 4km swim.
6Km Swim.You must be a
current member of Swim Ireland and have completed at least a 3km swim in
the past 12 months. You must also be over 18 on the day of the swim. If
you completed last year's 5km, 4km, 3km swim you will automatically
qualify provided you certify that you have trained and are fit enough to
complete a swim in excess of 6km swim.
